The downside of this styling hair for beginners will be difficult to braid it all over their head and make a beautiful beginning since when doing it for the first time, their hands get tired very quickly. It has no age therefore, they are perfect for little girls and young ladies over 50.It is easy to make such a braid voluminous in a matter of seconds.Suitable for thick an d thin hair due to its volume. It is easy to braid as there is no need to learn complicated instructions.A soft and pliable braid that allows you to style it in any direction you want.Perfect match with any other ponytail, bun, french braid, shell, crown, bun hairstyle. Therefore, it is recommended to work with hair for 2-3 days after shampooing or lightly treat it with wax. If they become electrified, spray them with water.Ĭlean, only washed hair will crumble and fall out of the hairstyle. You must prepare your hair for any braiding. What is easy to explain is that the fishtail not only looks spectacular because this hairstyle adds volume to even thin hair but also easily braids. This version of the French braid has not left the pages of fashion magazines and the world's main catwalks for many seasons in a row. The fishtail braid looks like you've spent a lot of time and effort creating it. These are straight, stylized braids using only two strands. If you’re looking for my ruffled top, it’s currently sold out.The fishtail hairstyle is another variation of the French braid. I also filmed a video if you want to watch the step by step process below. I’ve learned from experience theses will easily break if they touch the hot tool! I also like to curl a piece in the front on the side opposite of the braid to add some balance to the look. Curls the ends of your hair if desired, but be careful to avoid touching the elastic band. If you have layered hair, you will need to use bobby pins to tuck in little flyaways into the braid (see how in the video below). This will make the ends look a little thicker.Ĭarefully cut the top clear elastic, then finish with hairspray. Then tighten the end of the brain by dividing it into two sections and pulling them apart. Pull and separate the length of the braid until your desired messiness is achieved. Secure the end with a clear elastic hair tie. You’ll repeat this crossing technique until you’re happy with the length of the braid. I like to tighten the braid between each section as I go. Repeat that step by grabbing an outside piece from section two and cross it over to section one. It adds more dimension and texture to the braid. I prefer to use smaller sections even though it will take a little bit more time. Grab a thin piece of hair from the outside of section one, then cross it over to section two. Then separate your hair into two equal sections. You will cut this at the end when the fishtail braid is complete. Use an extra clear elastic at the top to help keep your hair together as you learn the braid. I don’t typically do this step anymore, but I think if you’re just starting out this step makes it easier to start the fishtail braid. I just twist a small section and pin it with a bobby pin. I like to twist my “bangs” and pin them back to keep them in place during the day. I used to save braids for the beach, but lately I’ve had a lot of fun experimenting with different braids to mix up my typical soft curled hairstyle. Here is a simple step-by-step tutorial on how to do a messy fishtail braid on yourself.
